Posted at 7:41 am under Uncategorized

Welcome to a short week for SLES.  Remember that Friday is a student holiday as the teachers have their annual ISA Conference.

What to look for this week:  7th grade: We  will review for the Chapter 8 test on Thursday.  Look for section assessments and worksheets as you study.  Monday, Feb. 9 we will start the unit on the Jeffersonian Era

8th grade: We will edit Radio show scripts and record on Thursday.  Homework will be Chapter 12 section 1,2, and 3 assessments all due on Thursday.  On Monday, Feb. 9 we will begin our look at the Great Depression with a focus on how it links to today’s economic crisis.

    Hey G-

I was looking over the history packet for the test, and I realized that under the department heads section, one blank is for the person who handles relations with the other nations-the secretary of state. I had down Edmund Randolf, then you marked it off as John Jay. If John Jay is also the chief justice, how can he be the secretary of state. The book says Thomas Jefferson was secretary of state. Which is right???

    Thanks,
    Jake

    Hey, Jake

This is what I get for thinking on the fly…I get discombobulated. You are right.

Thomas Jefferson was the Sec. of State
Alexander Hamilton was Sec. of Treasury
    Henry Knox Sec. of War
    Edmund Randolph Attorney General
John Jay was Chief Justice of Supreme Court.

Thanks for keeping me on my toes. I have to keep a list with me

    G
