Hello Parents,
It’s that time of year again. Monday, October 13 is Parent Teacher Conference Day. If you want to set up a time to meet with us, please call Margay at 826-0664 to choose your time. 8th grade parents will be meeting with Mr. Kremer and myself while the th grade parents meet with Dr. B and Mrs. Grimes.
If you feel confident that your student is doing well and you are happy with the grades, there is no pressing need for you to make an appointment. Of course, we always like to hear from you and visit with you about any matters.
See you on the 13th!

Ok…there are many comments out there regarding Outdoor School.
8th Grade goes to Outdoor School at Camp Champion in Marble Falls October 1-3…Only 13 Days from now. I have not been to Camp Champion before, but I hear it is pretty cool. It has an excellent ropes course and I have it on good authority that we are going to have a special night under the stars. Ask Coach D for details!
7th Grade goes to Outdoor School at Camp Eagle October 15-17. I love the place…It is right on the Nueces River and you can see exotic animals grazing across the river in the mornings. The Sherpa Trail and Zip Line are the BEST! I will miss that part of it. The Hydro Lab is tons of fun too. You all will have a blast.
Ahhh…I can’t wait! Fun in the sun, hiking, saran wrap, tiny squares of TP (I’m bringing my own role this time)…The memories are priceless!

Thanks for coming to the St. Luke’s Middle School Open House. We are all glad you came to visit and see what your students have been up to. If you haven’t yet visited this blog or heard about it through your student, I want you to know about this site. This blog serves the same function as the old teacher page, just in a new more user friendly way.
Under the title of each post is a category, so click on the category to the right that speaks to you. I welcome comments and feedback from all of you. I do have to moderate the comments so I will not post any comment you do not want posted. Of course, email or a phone call is the best way to reach me for topics of importance or sensitivity.
We are off to a great start!

As you all know, we are in the middle of the unit on Reconstruction. This week you will get a copy of the Powerpoint presentation and will need to add your own clarifying notes to it. You will also have an independent assignment pertaing to the Black Codes and the Jim Crow Laws. Be sure to be going over the list of words an terms I gave you last week.
We will have the first test over Reconstruction on Tuesday, Sept 16. We will review Friday, Sept. 12 as a class and on Monday with an individual review assignment. I will be out on Monday so you will have a substitute, but you will be very prepared by Friday and I am always available by emai, phone or comments through this blog.
Let’s have a great week #3!!
