Welcome to History!!!

Posted at 2:03 pm under 7th Grade, 8th Grade, General Info

Welcome back to St. Luke’s!  I am very excited about the possibilities for this 2008-2009 school year.

Because this is an election year, we will be talking a great deal about politics and the candidates running for office.  I encourage you to follow the election and discuss the issues as a family.  This will help your student develop into a critical thinker and to develop his or her own ideas about important issues in our government.

I love teaching history and my goal for all students is to have each one leave my class with a solid foundation of historical knowledge so that they become well informed, thoughtful and insightful members of the world in which they live.

Your children are living history and I look forward watching them discover their place in it.

Have a wonderful year!

I thought that Obama did an amazing job on his speech. He often condemned the Republicans which was cool. He also compared himself to McCain which was smart. GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!

I liked how Obama focused on education, Veteran treatment, the GI bill, and ending the War in Iraq. I would like to hear more about his policies on illegal immigrants. It was a good idea to base his campaign on change and saying that McCain as president would be like another four years of Bush. Sorry about writing two comments, Lauren and Nick said my first one sucked.

HI G!!!! This is Lilly……and I agree with Anjili that we were supposed to leave a comment on your blog.
I was unable to watch senitor Oboma’s speech, but so far from what I’ve seen on TV and heard, Oboma is doing a great job inspiring people around the world for change and that he IS change. I like that he focuses on education a lot and concerned about bringing our troops home. I believe he would be a good president, but also don’t think that a hundred days experience is enough to lead a country.
